BVT is a laboratory that has been accredited ISO 17025 (formerly EN 45001) by Cofrac for conducting tests on so-called « child-resistant » packaging (Cofrac accreditation n°1-1007, range on www.cofrac.fr).

Industrialists can resort to child-resistant packaging to package substances labelled as «highly toxic», «toxic», «corrosive» or «harmful» and which are intended for non-exclusively professional use.

These packagings must therefore have demonstrated their conformity to the following standards:

- For reclosable packagings: NF EN ISO 8317:2005 or ISO 8317:2003 (formerly NF EN 28317:1993 or ISO 8317:1989)

- For non-reclosable packagings: NF EN 862:2006 (formerly EN 862:1997)

- For non-reclosable packagings for pharmaceutical products: NF EN 14375:2004

These test consist of subjecting packagings to panels of adults and children in order to observe the effectiveness of the closing system.
